Why Every Office Needs a Directory Sign
An office directory sign does more than display names—it creates a seamless first impression. Whether it’s clients, visitors, or new employees, a clear, professional directory helps people find their destination quickly and confidently. The Custom Creations Difference
Many substrates are available, but some of the more common ones are:
- Coroplast: It comes in many different thicknesses and colors, is the most affordable material, and is made of corrugated plastics. The channels between the flutes will be somewhat noticeable in the sign’s finished appearance.
- PVC Board (plastic): It comes in white. Available in many different thicknesses, has a smooth finish to the face, and is a mid-price substrate.
- Aluminum: It comes in various colors and thicknesses, has a smooth finish to the face, and is a mid to higher-priced substrate. The color of the aluminum is made of paint.
- Alumalight: This is a thicker substrate that starts at ¼ inch thick. It’s made of 2 sheets of aluminum with a corrugated plastic center, comes primarily in white with a smooth finish, and can be finished with a ¼ inch colored edge cap, which is larger on thicker boards. It’s more expensive but very durable.
- Dibond: It’s approximately 3MM inch thick, is available in many colors, and is made of a solid plastic core surrounded on both sides with aluminum sheets.
- Lexan: This is a translucent material that’s used for backlit signage (sign cabinets) and is available in a few different thicknesses. Translucent vinyl is used in conjunction with this material.
